I would like to take this opportunity to applaud Pauline Mellon for exposing Derry City Council for the joke that they are. As one of those privileged to witness a young mother who belongs to an area that DCC, and their hired henchmen, the Galliagh Development Trust, contend "are deprived, but are too stupid to know it", kick the ass of every member of our "esteemed" Council, when she delivered one of the most articulate and comprehensive presentations rarely heard within that temple of incompetence,the inner sanctum of the Guildhall.
Apart from Councillor Tom Conway, every member of the Environmental Services Committee seemed to lack the capacity to comprehend that DCC were ruthlessly and clinically exposed for the dictatorship that it is. Clearly, Tony Haasan was so bemused by Mrs Mellon's rapier comments, that he bizarrely stated that the GDT, a group to which Mr Hassan belongs,and are an unelected, self-selected body with no mandate to speak for anyone, had taken the MUGA off the agenda in the Galliagh area. Mr Hassan, who cares what this insidiuos little quango have to say about anything.
And Sean Gallagher was so dazzled by Pauline's presentation that he too completely forgot that he is STILL a member of the Outer North Partnership.
Pauline Mellon for President! That's what I say.

Is it true that Derry City's Lord Mayor replied to a letter by putting a note on his facebook? I'm sure he could afford the price of a stamp to write back to residents, and he's a councillor for the area too any wonder people feel shafted with responses like that!

Re Pat Ramsey- considering how badly the councillors representing galliagh have done, fair play to him is right. I would think twice about voting SDLP for council in our area, but would vote for their mla's.

It's amazing that our Mayor Colm Eastwood and the other councillors could show such disregard for the people they are supposed to represent. There he was last week jumping up and down in Liverpool about the city of culture, yet what he did to the people of Galliagh was awful, and he's our first citizen, god help us if he's an example of good citizenship!

All our councillors showed their worth on this one, not one of them deserves to be a public representative, shame on them all for allowing those they claim to represent to be treated in such a fashion. Derry City Council is a joke.

We had to buy blackout curtains for our home in Ardnamoyle just to get a bit of peace, on more than one occasion the lights were left on ALL NIGHT.  Then theres the noise of the ones playing footbal until late at night. They told us that this muga would be great for the wanes and cut down on anti social behaviour, we were MUGS to believe them and then the wanes cant get into it to play when 'paying groups' are booked in. Don't let them do to yous what they did to us.

I emailed the project manager of the Galliagh development trust last week and asked him could he tell me exactly what they considered to be the Galliagh area. HE WON'T TELL ME! I ALSO EMAILED HIM SOME QUESTIONS IN FEB THIS YEAR, I'M STILL AWAITING ON THE ANSWERS.

Fair play to your demanding proper consultation all of the issues at hand in relation to the muga project.

So much for the pre-election promises of Transparency and Accountability.

As with all communities you should have more control on how vast sums of money are to be spent to best suit the needs of your area without the fear of secrecy in unelected quango`s from outside your area.

Just a pity that those you have to fight to gain democracy are heavily funded in their endeavours to keep you out of the loop.

Thanks for the leaflet its scary to know whats going on in your area, any wonder the galliagh trust and outer north group dont want people to know what they are at, they arent actually doing anything bunch of chancers.
